Meet the Owners
John and Bernadette Roller opened Express Employment Professionals in 2004. Their vision was to open a full-service staffing agency that would offer a wide variety of staffing and HR services while providing unparalleled customer service to their clients. Their search led them to Express because of their national reputation, extensive offering of services, and partnering ability. The Express Employment Professionals franchise is part of a network of over 600 franchisees forming Express Services, the fourth largest staffing company in the United States. Express also operates internationally in Australia, Canada and South Africa.
Backgrounds
John is a 30 year Human Resource professional and is life certified SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) by the Society of Human Resource Management and CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and IFEBP. John has worked extensively in Human Resources in both senior generalist positions and in employee benefits management. His recruiting expertise covers a wide range of jobs including Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, Education, Environmental, Operations, and Senior Executives. John graduated with a BS (cum laude) in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
Bernadette has an extensive background in Customer Service and small business management. She started her career in New York and moved to New Hampshire in 1984 working in several technical companies in a customer service role. She later operated her own business until the opening of Express in 2004.
Community involvement
John is currently the President of the Manchester Area HR Association, a Society of HR Management affiliate and serving the needs of over 180 HR professionals in the greater Manchester area. He has been with MAHRA since 1987. John is also on the Human Resource Committee for the local BIA. John is a 25 year veteran of the US Navy, where he spent 7 years enlisted and 18 as an officer (reserve), retiring as a Commander (Supply Corps) in 2005. He spent many years volunteering for projects beyond his obligation supporting events subsequent to 9/11.
Bernadette has been active in many community and school organizations and has contributed her time to help several community projects.
